Music

Here are some recordings of Ethel's Cats so you can hear what we sound like. These are simple MP3 file links - your browser will either download them or play them directly.
The Lemonville Jig
The Quarrymen
Little Burnt Potato
A popular set of jigs, often played together in this sequence.
Pig Flu Blues Written by Anahata for a Pig Dyke Molly dance, but perfectly usable for hornpipe dances in a ceilidh, for a dance that requires either 16 or 32 bar hornpipes.
Shrewsbury Waltz
Princess Caroline's Waltz
These waltzes are from John Kirkpatrick's "English Choice" book of tunes.
LNB Polka
Dark Girl Dressed in Blue
Two well known English Polkas. LNB = Late Night Band, written by Alan Lamb as 'a tune Alan wrote after a serious attack of jive dancing' I'm told. (thanks Martin Kiff, for that information)
Ethel's Cats The tune after which the band was named, for one of the Pig Dyke Molly dances of the same name, written by Robin Griggs, musician for Pig Dyke until he died in 2008. This is actually the full Pig Dyke Molly band, including Chris Kempton on percussion, and was recorded originally for the Pig Dyke Music 2008 CD.
Beilbie's
Grand Hornpipe

Live!
Two traditional step-hop tunes recorded at a party in Folksworth Village Hall - the dance is Clopton Bridge (I think) and the caller is Philippa Spencer.
